“From all the parents to their children; having fun together while learning new things with friends; new friendships, new experiences and discoveries and memories for a lifetime - Polish School is all of these and so much more!”

End of the school year 2018-2019

The mission of the Polish School of Dallas is to cultivate and promote Polish language, culture, traditions and customs.
We fulfill that mission through the classroom learning as well as extra-curricular activities and community events.

School History

In February of 2006, a group of Polish parents from the DFW area got together and started an educational group for young children, which they called 'Nasze Przedszkole'. All children were initially meeting as one group in private houses and library rooms all over the Metroplex. As the number of children grew, they were divided into pre-school and school groups. The group changed its name to 'Mała Polonia' in 2007.
In addition to regular classes, 'Mała Polonia' put on additional events such as Meeting with Santa, trips to the Zoo, train rides to Fort Worth, Christmas Play, the Carnival Ball or Easter Egg Hunt.

In November 2010, 'Mała Polonia' had been registered in the State of Texas as a not for profit corporation. In May of 2012, the School formally changed its name to the Jan Karski Polish School of Dallas.

Over the years, the school structure has changed as well. Currently, the School offers bi-monthly classes to over 60 students. Students in ten age groups learn reading, writing and speaking in Polish. They learn the history and geography of Poland as well as Polish culture and tradition. Children who do not speak Polish are learning Polish as a second language in ‘Polish 101 for Kids’ class. To meet the growing demand of the adult population, we also offer Polish 101 for Adults.

To promote Polish traditions and customs, we put on several events every year for the larger Polish community.  They include Meeting with Santa, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Play, Fall Camping or Constitution Day Celebrations. To expand our curriculum, we have become a Test Center for the International Math Competition – MathKangaroo in 2017. Since October 2015, we hold the Polish Bilingual Day on our campus.

The School works closely with Polish organizations in Texas and beyond, including PACT and Small Big Heart Foundation. We are a member of the Polish Teacher Forum of the West Coast, work with UTD Texas. Our students have opportunity to participate in the live online classes about Polish history; classes that are prepared especially for our school by the Children's University of Interesting History (DUCH).
In 2019, one of our graduates, Bartek has achieved the Seal Of Biliteracy in Polish on his high school diploma.
Our teachers and members of the school board often participate in various internal and external training to upgrade their qualification.

So far, one of the biggest events in the school history was a very special visit of Scholares Minores Pro Musica Antiqua from Poniatowa, Poland. Our school had invited a group of over 30 young musicians to visit and perform in DFW in February 2019.

We are non for profit organization, we do not generate any profits in our operation. We base on the parents and friends volunteering their time and effort so all the children are able to learn Polish language and get to know Poland better. If you are interested, please, join our school family now!
