Update about 2020-21 School Year

The COVID-19 situation remains fluid and uncertain. Even with a few weeks left till the beginning of the school year, The Board of Directors has already decided to switch school operations to distance/virtual form at least for the first semester of the school year 2020-21.

We are monitoring State and local orders that pertain to the building as well as holding gatherings of a certain size. At this moment, traditional school meetings are very unlikely. Even if some of the restrictions are lifted, as a School we would not be able to  provide a safe environment for our students and teachers and meet the CDC guidelines. We do still plan to hold the first day of school on August 15th, 2020 but we will meet virtually. On the other hand, distance learning should look different than during the spring. We all are aware, that the coming school year will be a very challenging one. And it won't matter if our students are back in the regular schools or learning online. Whatever they choose, it still will be difficult and demanding also for the parents, for the whole families. Thus, as a school, we plan to focus on doing some fun stuff with our students, to keep Polish language alive and staying in touch with our school community rather than overloading them with new material and homework. In the next few weeks, we will post new, updated calendar for the school year as well as more details about the plans as well.

As a result of those changes, we have also updated our tuition policy. For the first semester, there will be only one fee, Registration Fee $50 per student, both kids and adult classes. The tuition for the second semester will be modified as the situation changes and the update will be communicated later on.

The Board members election has been postponed till situation is back to normal, as well. As for the time being, all of the current Board members have decided to stay and help run the school as smooth as possible. As always though, we welcome any volunteers willing to run for election or/and help with daily business.

Once again, we are very thankful for all warm wishes, support and encouragement the school has received in the past few months. In the unprecedented times like now, we all have to face a lot of unknown, we have to be flexible yet 'play by the rules' to keep everybody safe, while trying to make everybody happy. It is difficult and we admit it. But, thanks to our wonderful Teachers, with support from the Parents, we will overcome any obstacles and we will be able to meet in person hopefully in a few months. Meanwhile, please be safe and sound during those few last weeks of hot Texas summer!
