Goodbye winter - Welcome Spring: Polish Marzanna and Egg Hunt
School spring picnic is one of our annual traditions. It also had to be put on hold for the last two years due to the pandemic. This spring, we are back grateful that we can spend time together face to face. And full of hope, that there will be no more disruptions in our traditions in the future.
Oh, it was hot this year. Early April had us roasting with the Texas summer temperatures. As always, we had the picnic next to the Splash Pad which was still closed for the winter. But there was a lot of 'wishing' it was already open. On the other hand, thanks t the shad and a tons of water to drink, we made it.
Spring picnic has always been a potluck type of event. There was a lot of yummy snacks to share on the table. We visited, talked, had a really good time with new and old friends. When it was a time, we went next to the pond to see the short program prepared by Mrs. Paulina's class. After that, the Marzanna was thrown in the water as a final goodbye to the winter. Everyone was ready to welcome the spring and for... the Egg Hunt.
Please take a look at this year Marzanna. She was a really elegant lady and she didn't mind to dive in the pond. Not at all 🙂
The last item on the list was the egg hunt. The impatience and excitement filled the air, as we've run the event starting from the youngest kids to the oldest group. To be honest, the pre-teens had as much fun as the little ones in gathering and unpacking their eggs.
The afternoon was gone in a blink of an eye. It was a fun time spend with old and new friends. We are already looking forward our next picninc during the Spring of 2023.
